James E. Knapp
James E. Knapp has joined the law firm on an of counsel basis. Mr. Knapp's professional focus has been on property, real estate, and title insurance law, as well as implementation of technology in the practice of law.

Mr. Knapp began his legal career in Vermont in 1981 as an attorney at Gravel and Shea. He remained with that firm for twenty-one years. He subsequently worked as the Vermont State Counsel for both the Stewart Title Guaranty Company and then as Vice-President of the Chicago Title Insurance Company.

Most recently, Mr. Knapp worked at the Vermont Bar Association as Coordinator of its Practice Management Program. In that capacity, he provided small and medium sized law firms with assistance in the areas of practice management, finances, systems development, and the implementation of technology. He has been an active presenter of continuing legal education programs in Vermont for many years.

Attorney Knapp serves as an adjunct faculty member at Champlain College teaching in the Paralegal Studies Program. He is also a member of the Vermont Title Standards Subcommittee of the Vermont Bar Association.

Mr. Knapp returned to Vermont following his graduation from the University of Maine at Orono and Syracuse University's College of Law (magna cum laude). He is a resident of South Burlington and serves on the South Burlington City Council.
