A partner at Mickenberg, Dunn, Lachs, Hazel & Smith since 1999, Aileen Lachs has been practicing law in the State of Vermont since 1994. Ms. Lachs received her BA in Philosophy from Williams College in 1983 and her JD from Northeastern University Law School in 1994.
Aileen has significant expertise in the area of family law. She has represented men, women and children in a variety of family law matters throughout the State including: divorces, civil union dissolutions, legal separations, pre-nuptial agreements, paternity actions, relief from abuse hearings and adoptions. She has also served as a guardian ad litem. A trained mediator and graduate from the Divorce Medication Training at Woodbury College, Aileen offers mediation services for family law related disputes. She also has presented in the area of family law at Continuing Legal Education Seminars.
Aileen’s general practice also includes: civil litigation, including personal injury and contract disputes, and transactional work on behalf of the firm's nonprofit and individual clients, including real estate and wills and trusts. Aileen also assists claimants seeking Social Security Disability benefits. Aileen speaks French fluently, is conversational in Spanish, and is learning Mandarin Chinese.
