A partner at Mickenberg, Dunn, Lachs & Smith since 1999, Aileen Lachs has been practicing law in the State of Vermont since 1994. Ms. Lachs received her BA in Philosophy from Williams College in 1983 and her JD from Northeastern University Law School in 1994.
Ms. Lachs has significant experience in the area of family law. She has represented men, women and children in a variety of family law matters throughout the State of Vermont including: divorces, civil union dissolutions, legal separations, pre-nuptial agreements, paternity actions, relief from abuse hearings and adoptions. Ms. Lachs also serves as a presenter at Continuing Legal Education Seminars in the area of domestic relations. She has also served as a guardian ad litem on numerous occasions.
In addition to domestic relations, Ms. Lachs' general practice includes civil litigation in areas such as personal injury, employment and contract disputes on behalf of the law firm's individual and organizational clients. An avid cyclist, one area of particular focus for Ms. Lachs is litigation associated with bicycle and pedestrian personal injury claims. Ms. Lachs also performs a wide variety of transactional work on behalf of the law firm's organizational and individual clients.
A trained mediator and graduate from the mediation training at Woodbury College, Ms. Lachs also offers mediation services. The primary areas of focus for Ms. Lachs' mediation services are family law disputes and residential real estate foreclosures. An avid cyclist, gardener and cook, Ms. Lachs is also passionate about foreign languages. She speaks French fluently, is conversational in Spanish, and is learning Mandarin Chinese.
