Kate Lucier
Kate Lucier joined Mickenberg, Dunn, Lachs & Smith in 2011. Kate focuses on the areas of criminal defense, family law, worker's compensation and civil litigation. While Kate is a passionate advocate for her clients, and willing to litigate cases to the fullest when warranted, she is also aware of the value of positive collaboration with opposing parties and strives to resolve matters out of court whenever possible and in her client's best interest.

Previously, Kate worked for the State of Vermont as a Juvenile Justice Specialist. She worked with juvenile probation officers statewide to improve probation outcomes, oversaw the State's Balanced and Restorative Justice programs for youth and served as hearing officer at Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center. While employed by the State of Vermont, Kate was chosen as a member of the first class of the Agency of Human Services' Leadership Development Program.

Before moving to Vermont, Kate worked as a trial attorney for the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Lowell and Worcester, Massachusetts. In that position, she represented clients in serious felony matters through all stages of their case, from arraignment to resolution of the case, including multiple jury trials. In her prior life, before becoming an attorney, Kate worked as a Middle School Special Education teacher. This combination of experiences has allowed Kate to engage with clients in ways that create supportive, open and effective attorney-client relationships.

Kate is a 2002 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law where she was a recipient of the Law Merit Scholarship. Kate also holds a Master's degree from Simmons College and a Bachelor's degree from Oberlin College.

In her time away from the office, Kate can be found exploring beautiful Huntington with her husband, young son, and aging Labrador.
