Whit Smith
Whit Smith has practiced law since 1977. He is a graduate of Yale University and the Yale Law School. The bulk of his work has involved the provision of legal services to individuals with disabilities and their families. In this regard, he has represented children with disabilities in complex class action litigation in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, as well as in Vermont.

Whit also represents a number of non-profit corporations and professionals providing services and support to children and adults with disabilities or those with limited resources. He has provided a wide range of corporate services to these agencies and professionals.

Prior to entering private practice in 1983, Whit worked for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Children’s Defense Fund of Washington, D.C., and Vermont Legal Aid, Inc. Other areas of his practice include civil rights, education, and general civil litigation.
